Afro-Pop Prince, Oxlade kicks off summer with his first solo single of the year, 'Arabambi’. Produced by renowned hitmaker Tmxo, this mid-tempo, love song is a colourful blend of the singer’s signature range and emotive, heartfelt lyricism.
‘Arabambi’ is a narrative of love and loyalty. Known for his dynamic sound and compelling storytelling, Oxlade captures the essence of a deep and unwavering connection. This charming dialogue rests on a bed of guitar riffs, woven with melodic richness, reinforced by groove-driven rhythm.
Reflecting on 'Arabambi,' Oxlade shared “Arabambi means “the child of the people”, “the community gave birth to this child”, “the one”. It’s also the nickname of K1 De Ultimate, an iconic Nigerian Fuji musician. The melody is inspired by the American singer Miguel and the way he uses his vocals. It’s a love song but it's still me in my braggadocious elements. It is the original song I was meant to perform for COLORSxSTUDIOS before I swapped it for ‘Ku Lo Sa’”.
This single is accompanied by an scenic music video filmed between St Lucia and Lagos. Directed by Montecarlo Dream, with visual effects from Creed, the video perfectly encapsulated the intense passion of ‘Arabambi’.
Oxlade has firmly established himself as a dominant force in the music industry, with accolades including a double platinum certification for ‘Ku Lo Sa’ in Switzerland, and platinum in Canada, France, and Germany. His hits have topped the charts, alongside his collaborations with generational acts like Bob Marley and Whitney Houston. Mega-stars Usher and Wizkid further validated his exceptional talent by sharing world stages with the singer in Ghana and Paris, respectively.
'Arabambi' continues Oxlade’s astronomical trajectory whilst anticipation builds for his forthcoming album, ‘Oxlade from Africa’. This incredible song is taken from his debut, slated for release in Autumn of this year.
