ViacomCBS Networks Africa introduces new talent to its Culture Squad, Ilooise Omohinmin

Pan-African network, ViacomCBS Networks Africa (VCNA) has confirmed Ilooise Omohinmin, popularly known as Ilo, to its African Culture Squad team.

Ilo, who joins VCNA as MTV Base’s newest VJ, will be forming a formidable partnership with a team of visionaries, creatives and trendsetters that includes Nigeria’s Nenny B and Folu Storms to lead the youth, entertainment and lifestyle culture.

“We are steadfast in our commitment to providing platforms for young African talent to showcase their distinct originality, and authentic voices, on a bigger stage while also creating avenues for them to influence cultural shifts, set trends and lead conversations through an inclusive and diverse content portfolio,” said Monde Twala, Senior Vice President, ViacomCBS Networks Africa. “We welcome Ilooise to the MTV Base Africa family as he brings with him a fresh, contagious energy which will resonate with our audiences.” he concluded.

Excited about the new gig, Ilo said, “Representing the MTV Base family is a dream come true. Leading culture with a team that allows me to lend my voice to the empowerment of youth inclusivity and culture is exciting. I cannot wait to get started and support in shaping the industry. To my people I say, get ready to meet the host with the most!”

Ilo’s expansive on-air background includes anchoring shows like The Home Run, Paul O Prime Promoters & Upfront and Personal’s The Fuze, amongst others.

“One of the most important qualities required in a ViacomCBS Networks Africa Culture Squad Member is the ability to communicate and connect audiences, and Ilo lives this authentically as he breathes contemporary youth culture. This, coupled with his strong personality, energy and confidence makes us confident in his ability to not only contribute positively to the MTV Base brand but also leave his imprint on the African entertainment business,” added Bada Akintunde-Johnson, Country Manager ViacomCBS Networks Africa.

Audiences of the channel should get ready to embrace Nigeria’s freshly minted on-screen personality as he hosts a multitude of MTV Base programmes and showbiz events, including the Top 10 Street Anthems, Official Naija Top Ten and Word on the Street.
