MUSIC VIDEO: Seyi Shay & Teyana Taylor - Gimme Love (Remix)



Nigerian superstar Seyi Shay has released her brand new single “Gimme Love” featuring US recording superstar Teyana Taylor. The song is an afrobeat inspired, rhythmic take on R&B, Seyi Shay’s exotic pop vocals lure you in, while Teyana’s gentle, sensual rasp helps create an emotive anthem for love. ‘Gimme Love’ is the first single from Seyi Shay’s highly anticipated EP, produced by award winning producer Sarz.

The video was Shot in Harlem, New York the culturally rich music video is the perfect blend of fashion and romance. Directed by Walu and produced by JM Films.

About Seyi Shay: Seyi Shay, was born in London to Nigerian parents. She started singing at the age of six, and by high school, things took a professional turn when she joined the school choir and performed with the London Community Gospel Choir during a tour that included 13 cities in Japan. Her career took a leap when she signed her first record deal with Sir George Martin; the producer of the legendary band, The Beatles, in London, a keen songwriter she wrote and produced three songs for the Konami Game Soundtrack; “Crime Life”, as well as the lead song “You will see” performed by legendary Spice Girl; Mel C.

Seyi Shay went on to become the lead singer of British Pop/RnB girl-band, ‘From Above’. They signed to Sony/Columbia Recordsand Music World Entertainment owned by industry veteran and father to BeyoncĂ©, Matthew Knowles. The group supported Beyonce on her “I AM” UK tour in 2009/10. Seyi continued her craft as a songwriter, penning ‘White Lies’ for international rap artist ‘Chipmunk’ featuring Kaleena of P.Diddy’s group ‘Diddy Dirty Money’.

In 2011, Seyi Shay decided to continue her musical journey in Nigeria, after being convinced by revered Nigerian artiste, Sound Sultan. Upon her return to Nigeria, Seyi Shay released two singles. Her career took an upswing in 2012 after she released ‘Irawo’ a motivational record that showcased her versatility, intertwining elements of her British upbringing with her Nigerian roots. The next year, she continued on to release three singles; ‘Killin Me Softly’ ft Timaya, ‘Chairman’ and ‘Ragga Ragga’ which peaked at No. 7 on MTV Base’s Official Naija Top 10 Chart.

In April 2014, her dancehall-influenced single ‘Murda’ which accommodated vocal contributions from singer’s Patoranking and Shaydee, became a global anthem, topping charts across Africa and introducing Seyi to a global audience. A year later (2015), Seyi Shay released her debut album, ‘Seyi or Shay’ which housed a total of 15-tracks including; ‘Right Now’ and ‘Crazy’ which features Nigerian international pop star, Wizkid.
