Afrobeats is a form of global club music rooted in various regional African genres. Freak de l’Afrique and Red Bull present a primer to the music, Berlin’s dynamic Afrobeats and Afro house community and its diverse influences.
Besides Freak de l’Afrique, the film features Afro house crew Rise, a fixture on Berlin’s house and techno scene, and Megaloh, a Berlin-based rapper of Nigerian descent, as well as Each One Teach One (EOTO), a network devoted to black empowerment. On top of that, we’ll hear from UK-based Afrobeats ambassadors Maleek Berry, Eugy and Kwamz & Flava.
