Hailing from Camberwell in south London, Ms Banks is the UK hip-hop artist who deserves all of the attention she has attracted since bursting onto the scene with her mixtape ‘Once Upon A Grind’ in 2014. Already causing a stir with her potent lyrical skills and deadly delivery which she showcased in last year’s much talked about ‘Fire In the Booth’ freestyle, Ms Banks is set to take things to the next level with the release of her new track ‘Get Loose’ and its must-see visuals.
Originally a freestyle from her ‘Fire In The Booth’, she decided to make it an official song in response to the reaction she caused with her supporters. An infectious call-to-arms for everyone to ‘Get Loose’, the track received its first play on Charlie Sloth’s 1Xtra show, with the visuals premiered on SBTV. The video, shot in and around south London, sees Ms Banks inviting everyone from Lagos and Kampala to London and Manchester and everywhere in between to join her movement.
Commenting on the track, Ms Banks said:
"People will see your light and try to dim it in various ways but I believe in staying positive and never backing down. When people try to get me down I just continue to turn up, they'll soon understand they have no power over me. Have fun, get loose."
With Ms Banks announcing more new music coming throughout 2017- including next single ‘OMG’ next month - and already garnering support from outlets such as Dazed, Dummy, The FADER, BBC 1Xtra, SBTV, GRM Daily and Link UP TV there is no doubt that this year and way beyond is hers for the taking.
