Idris Elba, Abraham Attah and Uzodinma Iweala rock Netflix’ “Beasts of No Nation” After Party

It was all glitz and glamour at Scarlet Lodge in Victoria Island this past Saturday, when Netflix invited the influential and beautiful Lagos crowd to the official Red Carpet After Party, immediately following the premiere screening of “Beasts of No Nation” at Silverbird Galleria. 

Hosted by Idris Elba and Abraham Attah, the two lead actors, and Uzodinma Iweala, the Nigerian-American author of the book the film is based on, only about 180 select guests were lucky to clench this past weekend’s most coveted invite. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed by Nigeria’s most respected media outlets on a Hollywood-like Red Carpet, and later proceeded to the pool area of Scarlet Lodge that was transformed into a spectacular outdoor nightclub. Elba, who spent the evening next to actress Genevieve Nnaji and media personality Toolz, seemed to have a blast at the after party, and was later joined by his long-term friend D’Banj. Together they came up on stage to engage with the lit crowd when celebrity DJ Caise played “Confidential” - a track on D’Banj’s “An Epic Journey” EP that’s being released today, featuring D’Banj and Driis, Elba’s musician stage name. 

Those who danced late into the night included the Who is Who of Lagos’ Entertainment and Nightlife scene: Genevieve Nnaji, Toolz, Ik Osakioduwa, Yvonne Vixen, Juliet Ibrahim, Emmanuel Ikubese, Show Dem Camp, Ikon, Temi Dollface, Milli, Chichi Nwoko, Chin Odogwu, Chin Okeke, Emma Nyra, Victoria Kimani, Beverly Naya, Faith History, Sharon Ojong, Bizzle, Chris D Razor, Karibi Fubara and D’Banj’s beautiful on-off-girlfriend Adanma Indimi, who attended with her stunning younger sister Meram Indimi. Celebrating the success of her son’s book, former Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala also attended the star-studded event, along with her husband and several family friends.
