After a brief hiatus working on new material, the girl group from South London are back with their new single ‘Lock Down’.
The new single, released on January 15th 2016, represents the journey Stooshe have embarked on over the past 18 months and draws on inspiration from Destiny’s Child and SWV, fused with strong beats, thick synths and live instruments. The sound is a natural evolution of the group, but remains true to their pop, RnB and soulful melody.
Alongside their new sound, the musical trio have grown into their own sophisticated look and style. Encompassing their urban London roots with Hollywood glamour, they have channelled their boldness, sass and energy for their powerful musical renaissance.
Produced by Detonate (Labrinth/Connor Maynard) and executively produced by Troy Antunes whose collaborations include Justin Timberlake, Britany Spears, Ciara and NSYNC alongside a video directed and produced byDamien Sandoval, whose credits include The Game, Jeremih and Pia Mia, Stooshe’s entry back into the charts is going to be one to watch.
The video shot in the UK and LA which includes a cameo from US heart throb America’s Next Top Model and Guess model Dom Benjamin was premiered on MTV.co.uk and hit the no 1 most watched spot on day of release.
From the animated characters that propelled them into the critically acclaimed girl group to now, older, wiser and in the driving seat Stooshe commented: ‘’The new single represents freedom and choice, a snapshot of the journey we have been on so far. We can’t wait to share it, learn from it and grow with it’’.
