Following the announcement of his first signing earlier in the year (Jamie Lawson), Ed Sheeran has officially launched his Warner label imprint, Gingerbread Man Records, alongside the label’s official YouTube channel.
“I’m extremely excited to be starting my own label,” Sheeran said. “It’s something I’ve been planning for some time. I’ve always loved endorsing acts from the very beginning and I get to work with artists I truly believe in.
My first signing is Jamie Lawson – he’s an incredible talent, who I’ve known for a couple years, and we’ve actually been on tour this year across Australia and the UK/Europe. Jamie’s self-titled album is coming on October 9 and I can’t wait for you to hear it.”
With Ed’s track record of bringing through emerging talent on his previous tours (the likes of Passenger and Rixton, to name a few), this move in to the label world is sure to be an organic and natural progression.
