TEE BLAQ TO LEAD 9ICE, OLAMIDE, REMINISCE, UNCLE, OTHERS TO DA GRIN'S 5TH YEAR MEMORIAL CONCERT FOR APRIL 22ND

The late Da Grin's legacy lives on!

Tee Blaq and Eldar Records are pulling the stops to celebrate the legacy of the iconic Hiphop maven, Olaitan 'DaGrin' Olanipekun. It has been confirmed that the iconic hiphop act would be remembered in a memorial concert that would take place on the 22nd of April at Spice Route, Victoria Island - Lagos.

The late rapper's cousin, Arewa Oluwatosin Olanipekun a.k.a Tee Blaq who is signed to Eldar Records and DaGrin's father would lead a handful of Nigerian act and industry stakeholder that were affiliated with the late rapper to the long hour event

'Five years in and my cousin's impact in the industry is still being felt. He has seen the floodgate of artistes who have openly confessed to being influenced by Late DaGrin and it is time to immortalize and remember his legacy. honestly,' Tee Blaq said.

TeeBlaq is the Iconic act's cousin, who was a frequent collaborator with the DaGrin. He had previously collaborator on tracks like 'Oti Yapa' and 'Press Rewind' before he scored the sleeper break-out street anthem with 'Robo' and several others hit songs ensued including 'Getting Money,' 'Ogbeni' feat. Reminisce, 'Garawa', 'Formula A', the Olamide-assisted 'Nicki Minaj' and the latest 'Vasa Shii.'

'DaGrin's death is still as painful as when it happened five years ago. We are hoping to see beyond death and pain while we celebrate his legacy, his ever green music and gain in artistes he has influenced including Tee Blaq who grew up with him,' Eldar Records CEO, Mr. Taofeek Olokodana enlightens.

Dagrin died at 6:00PM on Thursday, April 22 – exactly eight days after he was involved in a ghastly accident in front of Alakara Police station in Mushin, Lagos.

Years after, things seem to have changed, Dagrin’s death suddenly inspired a whole lot of rappers to hit the studio spitting in Yoruba language. Dagrin didn’t pioneer Yoruba-rap, (props to UK based act AY and former Coded Tunes rapper Lord of Ajasa) but he made it popular. So there you had the likes of Olamide, Reminisce, BaseOne, Tipsy, Jyhbo, Seriki spring up, obviously inspired by the general himself Barack O’grin.

It is expected that they (the industry) would all step out to celebrate the late DaGrin's legacy. Confirmed for the event is Olamide, 9ice, Reminisce, CDQ, Seriki, Lord of Ajasa, YQ, Sossick, WondaBoy, BaseOne, JahBless, PoslyTD, Chinko Ekun, and of course, TeeBlaq, who would be leading them.

Long Live Akogun!

More detail on the April 22nd event would be made available on official Eldar Records' website and social media accounts - @EldarRecords on Twitter and TeeBlaq's official Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/teeblaqofficial
