Bafta-award winning actor Adam Deacon has been sectioned under the mental health act, a court heard today.
The actor, who shot to fame in the gritty British film Kidulthood, was due to appear in court today after being charged with affray and possession of a long bladed sword in an incident near his home in Bethnal Green.
Police were called to reports of a man reportedly armed with a machete style knife and threatening members of the public in Hollybush Gardens on 6 January.
Deacon did not appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court this morning because he was too unwell after being sectioned under the Mental Health Act, the hearing was told.
