Jay Z is investing into the future of music.
After negotiating and waiting to buy Swedish streaming company, Aspiro, he finally got his wish.
The deal is for $56.2 million, but it was almost blocked by minority shareholders because they weren't quite enthused about his direction for the company.
Fredrik Bjorland who headed the independent bid committee gave the following statement, “We as a board tried to be as transparent as possible towards minority shareholders so that they could make the best possible assessment of the bid.”
We don't yet know what he is going to do with the streaming service, but you can probably bet that it would be quite interesting.
