The “Vote Not Fight”: Election No Be War campaign is a youth non-violence voter education campaign by the 2Face Foundation and Youngstar Foundation which seeks to promote peaceful participation by Nigerian youth in the 2015 elections. The campaign seeks to encourage individuals to make a commitment to shun violence and embrace peace. It is hoped that Nigerians from all walks of life will commit to peaceful elections by signing a non-violence pledge and participating in the Vote not Fight activities.
The video was shot in Lagos with support from Spinlet, the leading digital music distribution platform in Africa who came on board, seeing the cause as one very close to 2face's heart with the aim of supporting and aligning the Spinlet brand with the message of "Vote Not Fight
The video was shot in Lagos with support from Spinlet and was directed by Yinka Obebe whose aim was to depict positivity as much as possible despite the seriousness of the message.
The Vote not Fight campaign is just one of 2baba’s humanitarian moves. 2Face who was christened Innocent Idibia is always looking for constructive ways to influence the society positively. This is why he started the 2Face Foundation with its motto as ‘service to humanity’. Some years ago, he started the ‘A million voices for project’ which gave birth to the 2Face Peace Awards where young peace ambassadors were recognized and given grants to carry out their various projects.
In 2009, 2Face was appointed as an ambassador by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control. He released a song ‘Man Unkind’ to raise awareness on the menace of fake drug products in Nigeria. He is also an International Youth Ambassador for Peace Award recipient.
The Vote not Fight campaign team has visited every region in Nigeria and is working on plans to appoint more ambassadors to diffuse the message to every nook and cranny in Nigeria.
