A McDonald’s burger left exposed in a US doctor’s office failed to deteriorate even after two years.
A chiropractor’s office in Michigan purchased the McDonald’s burger and a taco from Taco Bell to see how long it would take for them to begin to rot.
Despite being propped up on a table for the two year experiment, the popular fast food fixes did not deteriorate due to the level of preservatives present.
"There's no smell from it, it's basically mummified. You can pick it up, turn it over and still see the cheese and pickle in the burger," Dr Jacqueline Vaughn told MailOnline.
"Even in the summer when we get ants, the bugs won't go near it,’ she said.
The experiment was conducted with the aim of showing patients just how bad fast food can be for our bodies.
