It seems a Big Mac and fries won't be the only thing on the menu at McDonalds, as it looks like you'll soon be able to charge your phone up wirelessly too - at least if you have a compatible handset. Reckon you'll be grabbing a nibble while you top up your phone on a Qi pad? Read on for all the details!
Announced at CES, McDonalds has teamed up with Air Charge to offer individual wireless Qi chargers in its restaurants, letting you walk in and top up your compatible phone for absolutely no charge at all - and you could always grab a bite while you wait too.
There'll be over 600 wireless chargers installed throughout various McDonalds locations, but there's a catch: those 600 will be spread out across only 50 locations, with the majority of them based in London. With over 1,200 McDonalds restaurants across the UK, you'll need to have some luck to randomly stumble into one with a Qi charging pad, and you also need to have a phone that's capable of being juiced wirelessly, such as the LG G3 or Nokia Lumia 930.
Still, it's a boon for those who are constantly needing some extra juice in their phones, and we could see even more charging pads roll out in the future. Fancy using one?
