Even with Jordan’s brand-wide emphasis on improved materials this year, the latest collaboration from the camp is unprecedented. But then, we’d expect any project with Don C to be of the utmost opulence. Here we find Just Don’s penchant for supple leather executed across the Air Jordan 2 Retro – done up in standout royal blue from top to bottom. The plush quilted leather upper is complimented by blue suede paneling at the lateral side as well as the tongue. As if the aesthetics weren’t striking enough, the packaging is equitably luxurious: a printed white dustbag, throwback red and gold box, and two branded Jordan pins are also delivered with the sneakers. The final touch is also its most important: a branded white, green, and red insole (also done in quilted leather) reads: “Just Don – Beaverton, Italy, Chicago,” ostensibly a reference to the Italian workshops that crafted this daring sneaker. While official release dates are still unconfirmed, word around the internet is that the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Retro will arrive on January 31.
