GADGET: The iPhone 6 could double up as your mobile wallet!

The clock is ticking down until Apple’s big event on 9 September when the iPhone 6 will be revealed, and it looks like the Cupertino giant has plenty in store to show off – and it’s not just the fabled iWatch. According to reports from Bloomberg and Re/code, one such tidbit is that the iPhone 6 could double up as your mobile wallet, letting you make payments from yourphone with just a quick NFC tap! Could it be time to ditch your wallet? Read on for all the details!

You can bet that when the iPhone 6 is finally revealed, it will pack in NFC powers, as according to multiple reports, Apple will be announcing partnerships with various card paymentsystems such as VISA, MasterCard and American Express to let you pay for your shopping with just your phone.

The new payment system is expected to be announced on the big day with the NEW PHONE, letting you use your iPhone 6 instead of your credit or debit card. Touch ID is also expected to play a role, by letting you SECURELY authorise the payment. It looks like this will be the first time that Apple will include an NFC chip into one of its phones, which has already been a mainstay on numerous Android blowers for years now. Google, with its Google Wallet app, has rolled out a similar NFC-enabled payment option in the past, but it hasn’t taken off – could Apple be the tech giant to finally crack the phone payment nut?

We’ll have to wait and see until Apple’s big event if you can start to leave your wallet at home, but stay tuned, as we’ll be sure to keep you updated on the latest as soon as we hear it.
