GADGETS: Feel every punch, kick and bullet with the KOR-FX gaming vest!

You may already have the most advanced gaming system, but the KOR-FX gaming vestpromises to make things a whole lot more exciting, letting you feel and experience every last punch, kick and bullet when you’re playing the latest games. It’s virtual reality – for your sternum!

The KOR-FX gaming vest is currently a Kickstarter project, with the team behind it looking to raise $75,000 (£44,000). Proving incredibly popular, the vest has already managed to smash that target more than twice over, so it looks like we won’t have to wait too much longer before the KOR-FX turns into a gaming reality.

It should make all the difference to your favourite games, too, and could be the perfectgadget to go alongside the Oculus Rift or Sony Project Morpheus virtual reality headsets. Not only will you be able to immerse yourself in the games with a VR headset, thanks toKOR-FX you’ll be able to feel a part of the virtual world as well.

It’s not just about feeling when you’ve been shot, either; haptic feedback within the KOR-FX means it’ll be possible to detect which direction enemies are approaching from when you’re playing games like Call of Duty, and the designers proudly boast: “It brings realism to a level you didn’t know existed. The next level of immersive gaming has arrived!”

Whether KOR-FX really can make that much difference remains to be seen, but we love the idea of feedback actually happening around our bodies when we’ve been shot or punched – rather than just having the controller offer a feeble VIBRATION in our general direction. As long as it’s not too violent, naturally, we don’t want to spend the day in A&E with severebruising after a round of Titanfall.

To get your mitts on a KOR-FX gaming vest, head over to the KOR-FX Kickstarter page. The early bird DEALS may have already have been snapped up, but you’ll still be able to get hold of a vest for $150 (£90), with delivery expected in September this year.
