SPORTS: 46-0: Floyd Mayweather Barely Escapes Marcos Maidana by Majority Decision

Marcos Maidana had a chance to become something of a people's champion by beating two of boxing's most vilified personalities. He took down Adrien Broner in December, but could he defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr.?

Well, there's still a zero in Mayweather's loss column.

Mayweather barely escaped with a majority decision from one of the toughest fights of hiscareer. Maidana was dominant in the earlier rounds, and many suspected that the near-hero was going to run out of gas.

By the sixth round, it was clear this wasn't going to be the case.

Maidana was toe-to-toe with Mayweather throughout the entire fight. Mayweather was even cutby an accidental headbutt at one point, a first for him in his career.

Mayweather was still steadfast throughout the fight. They dueled in what turned out to be aninstant classic. The only complaint? The nonsense scorecards. It could've gone either way, which makes it so absurd that one judge had it 117-111. The other two had it 116-112 and a draw.

Still, it was a thriller. This is what 46-0 looks like.
