Canada's medical marijuana industry is doing quite well. So well, in fact, that vending machinesthat dispense marijuana are becoming all the rage.
According to the New York Daily News, the machine provides an assortment of weed, which is packed into heat-sealed bags. This is thanks to the work of Chuck Varabioff's British ColumbiaPain Society, which provides Vancouver residents 19-and-over with herbal treatment.
The Daily News adds that they're the product of a "legal gray zone" that's been created by afederal ruling which shut down attempts to regulate the drug. Though marijuana is still technically illegal in Vancouver, police are more interested in serious threats, like large scale trafficking operations and "real" drugs like meth, cocaine and heroin.
Varabioff told the Daily News that his goal is to install the machines in clinics and nursing homes. Hopefully, for the sake of patients, he achieves that in the near future.
