The Ifa adherents, who came from Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Edo and others offered prayers in their own ways for the release of the abducted Chibok girls.
The prayers were said by Chief Yemi Elebuibon, Chief Udenta Chikeebere, Chief Ifayinka Odutolu, Chief Ifasayo Alabi and Osunkemi Bogunpe, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional religion believers, President of the International Council for Ifa Religion, Professor Idowu Odeyemi, said, “Nigeria is neither a Christian nor a Muslim nation.
Nigeria is a nation of three major religions; African Religion, Islam and Christianity. Now that the two other religions have boxed Nigeria into a corner of confusion, violence, chaos and anomie, practitioners of African religion and spirituality have now stepped in to halt the rot.”
