After a string of hits including Get Lucky and Happy, Pharrell Williams found himself the proud winner of the innovator award at the first ever iHeartRadio Awards on Thursday evening.
The singer/songwriter looked emotional as he arrived on stage to collect the accolade from pal Gwen Stefani at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.
After a number of touching video messages from the likes of Beyonce, Lady Gaga andOprah Winfrey, the 41-year-old performed a melody of his tunes for the star-studded audience.
Speaking to the crowd while clutching his gong, the star said: 'I never dreamed in a million years that, as a producer, I’d be standing here as an artist.
'All I did was write the songs, and you guys did all the heavy lifting, all the hard work, all those billions of views on YouTube, Thank you guys for lifting me so high', Hollywood Life reported.
The father-of-one, who is thought to have also paid tribute to his wife Helen Lasichanhand son Rocket in his acceptance speech, kept his look casual for the evening.
His look included a simple, grey cardigan, white T-Shirt complete with relaxed motif, jeans and various necklaces.
However, he also wore some trademark headgear in the form of a large, black trilby. TV presenter Jimmy Fallon poked fun at the star's famous looks in his message, sporting a large over-sized brown hat.
