GADGET: Meet Batman's home music system, the Naim Muso

If you’re looking for a home music system that’s sleek, sexy, and not short of power, point your shell-likes at the Naim Muso. It’s an amplifier, a streamer, and a standalone speaker, and it looks like the kind of thing Batman would have blasting out tunes in the Batcave.

It’s made from extruded aluminium, anodised aluminium, and wood, and that touch panelvolume control is a thing of beauty. Turn it to change the volume, plus there’s a touchscreen in the middle that houses the controls.

You can also control it using an app for iOS and Android.

Inside are six 75-watt digital amplifiers, each of which drives its own speaker. It also has two dome tweeters, two bass drivers, and two mid-range drivers. In other words, it’s all thesound system you need. Just plug in – or fire tunes to it over Bluetooth or Apple AirPlay – and press play.

It supports hi-res audio formats like WAV, FLAC, and AIFF files too, which should keep the bearded audiophiles happy.

Internet radio comes built-in, and it has digital and analogue inputs. It can also play musicstraight off a USB stick, so if your pal brings round some tunes, there’s no need to fiddle with any software.

You can hook up several units wirelessly and use it as a multi-room system, just like Sonos. Though considering they cost £895 a pop, you will need Bruce Wayne-style fortunes to do so.

The Muso will hit shops in August. It’ll be on sale in John Lewis, as well as select hi-fi dealers.
