If you need help getting set-up this bank holiday, join us as we’ll walk you through how to get to your Start screen on your phone!

Getting started

Getting set-up with a remote desktop can be a royal pain, but Google has made it incredibly easy with its new app – there’s only a few steps you need to take. First up, you just need to install the Chrome Remote Desktop app for your chosen computer from the Chrome Web Store, and once you’ve set that up, you can install the Android app on your phone.

You can install the desktop portion on any number of computers you fancy, meaning if you have several desktops or laptops around the house that you’d like to access on your phone, just install the Remote Desktop app on those too.

Taking control

Now you’ve set up the computer half of Google’s Remote Desktop, you just need to install the app on your phone: Simply point your Android blower to the Google Play Store, and download the Chrome Remote Desktop app, and once you’ve run it it will then prompt you to select which machine you want to access. Simple as that. Just make sure to keep your desktop on so you can access it while on the move, and you’ll be good to go!

The app itself packs in all the features you’d expect to see on your desktop, such as a pop-up keyboard and full control of the mouse using your touchscreen, making it a simple, quick and easy way to access your desktop. Will you be doing this on your Android device?
