We’ve seen enough new tablets to open up our own pharmacy of late, with rumours of a Lenovo offering the latest to make the rounds. They’re not rumours anymore though, with the Lenovo ThinkPad 10 popping up on the company’s Australian website. A tablet with world-renowned ThinkPad build quality? What’s not to like?
The ThinkPad 10 briefly had its own product page on Lenovo’s Australian website, according to TabTech, only to be removed soon after. It looks like whoever removed it missed a bit though, as the Lenovo ThinkPad 10 is still showing up as a new product on the homepage – you just can’t click for more information anymore.
Thankfully the tablet was on display long enough to get the lowdown on the specs. The 10-inch screen gets a full HD 1920×1080 resolution, and there’s a 1.6GHz quad-core processor and up to 4GB of RAM. 128GB of storage space should be more than enough for apps, games and other bits and bobs.
Lenovo has also made an effort on the camera front, with an 8-Megapixel snapper that should be more than capable of taking decent shots, and a 2-Megapixel camera on the front for video chats.
There are also loads of accessories available for the Lenovo ThinkPad 10, that could potentially turn it into a Surface Pro 2 beater. There’s a keyboard dock and keyboard case, for a start, turning the ThinkPad 10 into a full-fledged computer, and it will also be available with 4G/LTE.
Allied with Lenovo’s legendary rock-solid build quality, the ThinkPad 10 could be the new Windows 8 tablet to beat, especially if the company nails the keyboard in the manner we’ve come to expect. Proper, decent ergonomics and a perfect typing action from the keyboard case really could set this tablet apart.
There’s currently no word on pricing or availability, but watch this space for more info. Would you buy a Lenovo ThinkPad tablet? What would you go for if not? Tell us in the comments below!
