REVIEW: Victoria Kimani ft Prezzo & AY - WHOA (Music Video) Review by Minnie Marj. @marjoriefiedler

I just received the link of a new music video that has been released couple of days ago.

I thought, Hey its Victoria Kimani's - Whoa music video!! I was looking forward to see the visuals to the song and there it was!

First of all, I would like to say that WHOA is a very beautiful, catchy song!! You know those types of songs where you imagine yourself singing for your lover boy

and trying to seduce him in some kinda ways. Y'all know what I mean!! Also Congratulations to Victoria for her debut as a director.

Yes, from the information I gathered, she directed this video.

Now, let's come to the part where I was a bit confused.

I know that it is not mandatory for a music video to have a storyline (depending on the director's concept) but at least we need to have one of these matching points.

Either the title, or the song itself or the video should tell us something about the story.

In this case it was almost non-existent.

At the beginning, I thought the phone call the boyfriend received would lead us and give us more details about what was going to happen.

I didn't understand the conversation on the phone: "What has she done to you?", "Yes, she is from Kenya" and so? etc...(just quoting)

Then suddenly we see Victoria in a club scene with the featured artists AY & Prezzo.

I was like: Hmmmm, isn't she in danger or something? :-)

Whenever I watch a video, I like to involve myself in the story in order to connect more and understand the happenings.

Apparently, there was no danger, because Victoria was enjoying in the club and she was looking all beautiful and glammed up with Henna tattoos all over her body.

I didn't appreciate the fact that there were too many dark moments.

I was expecting to see more of Victoria's facial expressions and performance.

There was also too much lights coming from left and right at some point.

I mean if someone suffers from Epilepsy, I would fear for them.

As a matter of fact, the lights distracted me a little and I had to squeeze my eyes in order to focus on the video.

As soon as they started kissing, I was immediately focused!! Trying to measure the length of the kiss and all that. #Jokes

Suddenly, we are slowly reaching the end of the video and we see a very happy boyfriend.

He was so joyful, I thought that he might have won the lottery.

BUT nope, the gangstas waiting in front of his door made him realise what the real life was all about.

Nevertheless, it is a nice video with a beautiful choreography and nice costumes.

Kudos to the stylist and Make up artist for doing such a great job. I Dig :-)It is a To Be Continued story....

We are all kept in the suspense until we see what will happen in Part 2.

I keep an open mind. Maybe we will then understand the full story. :-)
