Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is about that time to speak out my MIND again! As we all know Freedom of speech is not a conspiration, so please allow me to comment on this pretentious and hilarious video I came across couple of minutes ago.
Do I need to mention that I am totally baffled after watching this video? Let's not beat around the bush, this review is about African Artist Olu Maintain aka Mr Nawti - Ennuff Effizzi Music Video.
This video has been branded (I don't know by who?) the most expensive music video ever done by an African Artist.
What is the point of doing an expensive music video that doesn't make sense at all?? I am not saying that the video isn't nice.
Well you can tell that the latest technology has been used to shoot this music video, expensive locations have been chosen and of course it is not everyday that one gets the chance to shoot in a private jet!
But wait, why torture my eyes with beautiful visuals when there is no proper song attributed to it?? I kept on wondering which of the people involved in the video was actually the artist, because I didn't see anybody representing the actual song by doing the usual things such as: singing, performing etc...
The only time I saw the gentleman miming for couple of seconds was at following minutes: 1.22 , 3.12 , 3.29 , 3.58 How often did he sing?? Not a lot as you can see!! It is recommended to think outside the box whilst executing a project but I think that in this case they were rather thinking inside the cage than outside of the box.
What I mean is: I don't see anything Special in this video and the song.
Have you ever attended a private pool party in a mansion or Chateau? If yes, you will agree with me on this point. This is Nothing new.
All I see in this video is a kind of Black "Hugh Hefner" surrounded by his numerous Playgirls waiting to get fed by Daddy Maintain.
At least I can give him Kudos for that. It looks like he really knows how to Maintain those girls. This does justice to his name! Most definitely!
It is more a "Show Off" than anything else.
It would have been better to turn this shoot in to a reality show.
At least the money would have been worth it because some revenue could have been generated from it.
It is great to have a distribution deal with Island Def Jam but it is best to know that the content to be distributed will generate revenue! After listening to the song and seeing the video, Do you think it will?? I leave it to you guys to decide.
Nevertheless, I can't wait to listen to Olu Maintain's upcoming EP and see what other surprises are in the bag.

Well said. Exactly my thoughts, couldn't have put it any better.
