Snoop Dogg : Dr Dre Needs His Old Crew To Complete "Detox" Album

Snoop Dogg recently stopped by Tim Westwood show on BBC1xtra to talk about his return to the UK, his upcoming projects and he ended up making bold statements on the reasons behind Dr Dre's delay of the "Detox Album". "It's a formula, when we made records in the past it was always girls, it was always party, it was always the right atmosphere to create that type of album that sounds like the albums you have heard in the past," Snoop told the BBC radio host. "If there's not that atmosphere you can't create that kind of album. So that's what's happening right now -- the songs don't match the atmosphere and the atmosphere don't match the songs."

'The Chronic' and 'The Chronic 2001' featured lots of collaborations with artists from the old Death Row Records days. People like Kurupt, Daz Dillinger, Nate Dogg, Snoop, RBX, Lady Of Rage and D.O.C. heavily influenced the sound of those classic albums. Snoop thinks those key ingredients were vital and are not there anymore.

"What we're accustomed to hearing from Dr Dre is the brand new next best everything, and right now people are not getting that," Snoop continued. "He knows that... he's a perfectionist, until he gets that he's not going to release it because he doesn't want the scrutiny of people saying 'ah I waited this long for that?'

"He's got a strong work ethic, but I'mma say this and I don't know if it's gonna ruffle any feathers. I just think the wrong people are in the environment. When he made records that were hit records in the past, D.O.C., Snoop Dogg, RBX, Kurupt -- it's like it's pieces that's not there that need to be there. And I'll say D.O.C. and Snoop Dogg is the backbone. When you take those two out of the equation it's not gonna work. You need to put them two back into the situation and let us mastermind and the project like we did Chronic and 2001. That's what's missing"

Osama Bin Laden's Mistress Kola Boof Accuses Wale Of Hating Black Women "Chimp Brained Nigerian"

Rapper Wale and a woman who once had an affair with terrorist Osama bin Laden, got into a heated argument last night (May 23) on Twitter over the choice of women Wale used in his "Pretty Girls" video.

Kola Boof, an Egyptian-Sudanese-American novelist, activist and poet attacked the rapper in a series of angry tweets accusing him of being a "self-hating n*ggerstock b*stard," because of his use of lighter skinned women in the video.
"There wasn't a single Black woman in "Pretty Girls"...so what in the f*ck was he saying about African women?? His own race?" she wrote. "WALE has all the f*cking power in the world as to WHO appears in his music videos. So shut that **LIE** down. As an African Mother....nothing is more disappointing or makes me more ashamed than the mindset of the Black Male."
"Our worst f*cking enemy on this planet...has turned out to be our own sorry ass self-hating sons. PERIOD.

WALE is a little Punk B*tch Nigerian Skin Bleacher who wants to escape his own people & gets PAID 2 do so. Wale you ain't SH*T!!! But a f*cking disgrace to the African people!! F*cking Nigerian Goat motherf*cker. So many of these "B*TCH N*GGERS" need to be f*cking Hung from Trees ......again. 500 yrs. & no growth."
Wale, who was born to Nigerian immigrant parents, got wind of what was being said and finally replied back.
"Kola boof... I won't beef with you as a rapper, but as a proud black man with intellect. We can show the world what ignorance looks like," he said. "@kolaboof I can sit up here and say you were porking terrorist...like a lot of your peers say. But I'd rather not, because I'm ignorant to. Whatever relationship you had with Ol' Boy [bin Laden]. ..and my ignorance to THAT particular subject will keep me quiet. W/ that said u shd 2. your pretentious. Your a disgusting human being, an absolute disgrace to the very people you pretend to endorse."While Wale eventually took the high road and stopped arguing there, Boof's rant went on for several more hours.

"If #WALE was my goddamn son I'd drown that Chimp-brained Nigerian N*ggerstock motherf*cker. And feed his ass to the Red Ants. Loser mofo!," she continued. "This man HATES US...hates our whole f*cking existence & wants to escape blackness...and we making him rich!!??"
"I don't like Wale because he's AFRICAN yet hates Black Women & had to be FORCED to put 1 in his videos. To me....a man like WALE....is no different than a f*cking Clansmen. He just gets away with his sh*t bec. he's dark black. But let WALE have to decide between saving YOU from drowning and a European. He's a skin bleacher. Might as well be Jergen."

NAIJA Djs PRESENTS: Naija Djs UK Corner Deejay Bayo. Published by DjLanre

There are very few Djs in London who can claim to currently have a residency in three of the hottest clubs in town, Dj Bayo is one of them; Naija Djs UK sat with the man who is considered to be one of the quietest men in the industry.

What’s your real name?

Bayo Awelenje

When did you start Djiing?

I started out about 11 years ago my older brother was an avid collector of vinyls and I grew up listening to a lot of 80s and early 90s music, it was there I created an interest in the art form of djiing

How did your parents react when they found out you became a Dj?

My father was very vocal about his dismay and my mother was also not as pleased, but not quite as vocal as my father, my dad wanted me to become an accountant, being a Dj to Nigerian parents is not a seen as a respectable profession.

Why do a lot of Nigerian parents frown on the idea of their children becoming Djs?

It’s a bit like football, I’m sure during its early days if you wanted to become a footballer back then your parents will try and knock some sense into you, but now that footballers can earn as much as a £1million a year, your mother will now encourage you and your father will support you and if possible be try and be your agent. Hopefully one of these days we as Djs will eventually get handsomely paid and then we’ll start seeing the change in parent perceptions.

What is your ideal Dj set up

For me an ideal set up will be two Technics 1210s and a Pioneer DJM 600, with the advent of technology mixers such as the Rane TTM 57SL which has a built in Serato box that allows you to set up your laptop without a Serato box that will also be an ideal equipment to have as part of my ideal set up

What are your hobbies?

I used to play football but couldn’t get up early enough due to my late finishes from my gigs, I love music and also enjoy swimming.

If you had to be someone else for a day who would it be and why?

I would happily be me Bayo, the reason I say that is because those people I would like to be started from humble beginnings, which is where I am at the moment.
What is your favourite all time song?
The Boys-Dial my heart
Who is your all time favourite Artist?

Notorious B.I.G

If you never became a Dj what other vocation would you have gone into?

I would have been a Financial Analyst.

In your opinion what makes a good Dj?

What makes a good dj in my humble opinion is a dj who has a lot of patience, has got versatility and can be play a wide range of music, being able to control the crowd is also quite important
Who’s is your favourite Naija Dj?

This Dj in my opinion has to be one of the most under rated djs amongst his contemporaries, his love for djing knows no bounds, he is skilled in every aspect of djiing from his technical know how to his djiing ability, to me he is well ahead of his time, his name is Mixmaster Tee and he’s my favourite Naija Dj.

Do you have any advise for any upcoming Dj?

My advise is as a dj you have to be patient and be in it for all the right reasons, whilst on your way up be prepared to do free gigs because that’s the way people get to listen to your skills, whilst I was a student I remember doing gigs to 900 students for £20 a week, I stuck with it because it was a way people could hear my skills. Practise your skills all the time, that’s the only way you can master your craft.
You can catch Dj Bayo on Friday at The D'Den Legacy-135 Finchley Rd, NW3 6JH

Every Saturday at CokoBar (Clause Bar)1 Lovat Lane EC3R 8DT
Every Sunday at No 5 Cavendish

KMI RECORDS PRESENTS: J frazer - King is Here. (Listen & Download) Published by DjLanre

Without the right ambition, character and patience new artists are setting themselves up for failure. For Joshua Fraser a.k.a “J Frazer” none of the above is an issue. Getting your foot in the door is not an easy task and the fact that J Frazer has been able to do so as a producer, singer and emcee speaks to his creative depth. Born into a musical family, J Fraser grew up listening to his father, who was a singer, which sparked his musical passion. Dreaming of always buying his mother a big house, living lavishly and travelling the world, J Frazer was always ambitious. He decided that singing would make those dreams come true, “I started singing at 5, I wanted to be just like my father”; but as time went on, he realized that singing was not going to be his call to fame and altered his musical focus to emceeing. Through much of his teenage years J Frazer nurtured his lyrical skills. Taking any and all opportunities to show-off his abilities, he started to build a reputation as a “nice” emcee. J Frazer came to learn that being considered “nice” sometimes isn’t enough, but his character has no quit in it. Taking that confidence and ability he decided to take his music to another level, professional mainstream. He put together a demo and met with a record label representative that he knew “I walked in feelin good, I was crushed when he told me it was the worst ish he ever heard”. And again, Frazer decided to diverse his musical blueprint and began producing; though never losing focus on his rhyming.

Then, on the other side of the booth, J Frazer focused his artistic style on producing for local emcee’s. Through his beats he hoped to inspire great lyrics out of upcoming artist; while still longing (and preparing) for his time back behind the mic. This patience and dedication would not go unrecognized, but how it was rewarded was not exactly how J Frazer expected it or by whom. One day, while driving with a friend in downtown Toronto; listening to a disc of himself, Frazer crossed paths with the man who would change his career forever. Also driving downtown that day was CEO and founder of independent record label KMI Records, Taj Deen Ibrahim; when he drove up beside a car blasting a sound he’d never heard before. J Frazer recalls “this dude pulls up beside me and asked, is that you?” and I said “Yeah, that’s me” which was when Taj Deen Ibrahim asked Frazer to pull over and the rest you can say is history. J Frazer is now a member of the KMI Records family. J Frazer plans on making an international imprint on the rap game; like another notable Toronto artist and plans to represent his city no matter where in the world his career takes him. He doesn’t like to compare his rap game to other artist, but aspires to the greatness rappers like: Nas and Jay -Z.

Look out for J Frazer mixtapes by the summer of 2011 and his full
length album in early 2012. For more collaborations or information please email: info@kmirecords.com [2] and check out www.kmirecords.com

Chris Brown's Mum Talks About Girlfriends And Good Morning America

Chris Brown's mom, Joyce Hawkins, has a whole host of great things to say about her son: he's generous, caring, a fun goofball. But she's got some words of wisdom for her star son, too: when asked about his 2009 beating of Rihanna, has to answer the questions without melting down.

In a new video for Sister 2 Sister Magazine, Hawkins discusses Brown's multitude of women, as well as his infamous meltdown backstage at "Good Morning America" after being asked by Robin Roberts about the Rihanna incident. While she understood his frustration -- he thought he'd be on the show just to perform and promote his new album -- Hawkins says that he needs to keep his cool under pressure.

"I think it's just -- there's nothing wrong with asking. He needs to learn to deal with it and to answer it, no matter what," she says. "Because you're going to come up against things where, it may be live and you may not expect certain things to happen. Be prepared to answer it no matter what."Brown later apologized for his tirade, though he did explain what set him off. "I felt like they told us this just so they could get us on the show so they can exploit me," Brown said.

"So I took it very, very hard and I really kinda kept my composure throughout the whole interview, although you can see me upset, I kept my composure, I did my performance. "And when I got back I just let off steam. I didn't physically hurt anyone, I didn't try to hurt anyone, I just wanted to release the anger that I had inside me because I felt that I worked so hard for this music and I felt like people kept just trying to take it away from me."

Korkormikor - Delete Them All‏ (Listen & Download) Published by DjLanre

Korkormikor comes from the same part of Nigeria that churned out mainstream acts like Timaya, Frank D’Nero and Duncan Mighty.  He was born Deinbofa Nana Okoto in Otuan, a typical resource-rich but economically deprived community in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. He is a singer-songwriter, and Hip-Hop impresario, and is arguably the next big thing from out of the Niger Delta area of Nigeria.

Korkormikor’s story of hardship was froth with more lows than highs until he met Larte ‘The Tycoon’ Badom, the CEO of Xcel Music (now Molach Entertainment). Soon after, in 2007, he released “Something for Y’all”. The song which was the lead single on his debut album: “Korkormystic: Port-Harcourt City Breed”, went to become a groundbreaking single in the region.

His song, Delete Them All, captures the angst he has built up over the years. With the mellow mood of the song, it's easy to overlook the serious quips made on the track. All in all, he calls for a 'hit' on the heads of proverbial haters/enemies-of-progress. Korkormikor’s music is inspired by his personal battles as well as the communal struggles of his people. His musical influences range from Reggae to Hip-Hop; and include: Alpha Blondie, Bob Marley, MajekFashek, Lauryn Hill, Tupac and Snoop Dogg.

What makes a good Dj in my opinion is one that is able present as radio Dj, get the crowd going as a Club Dj and also able to pack a punch as a Mobile Dj, if you can encompass all three as a Dj then you are well on your way to becoming the finest.

Who is your favourite Naija Dj?
Kola Baiye of former Ace Club, Peak Club and Fantasy in my mind this mans timing is impeccable, his mixing is second to none and his volume control is amazing, I have seen many Djs mix and blend, however Kola's mixing is mind blowing.

What is your take on the current Nigerian Music scene?
The Nigerian music scene has come along way from where it used to be a good few years ago, when I moved over here in the 90s there were hardly any African Clubs, but now there are so many clubs that play African music particularly Nigerian music. One thing we need to get right in Nigeria is the Copyright laws and the paying of royalties to artist, if an Artists song is used he or she should be remunerated and there should be certain bodies in Nigeria who ensure this happens.
