The blazing R&B/Afro pop singer/songwriter T-NAYAH is based in the DMV area, USA. She was born September 7th, 1991 as Sharon Teinsah Nkwain in Cameroon West Africa. She migrated to the USA with her family in the winter of 2006. The name T-NAYAH is a combination of her middle and her nickname, Nayah.
At a very tender age, she portrayed a “unique vocal ability” as her parents describe. She was encouraged to join the children’s choir at her church where her talent was well nurtured. Her musically inclined family helped to harness this treasure so much so that before she was 10 years old, it was evident that music would play a major role in her life. At 10 years of age, she started attending Baptist High School (a boarding school in Cameroon), where she gained most of her stage experience. She was a part of many musical groups at the school including the school choir and a very prominent duo she created with a longtime friend of hers. The duo wrote and performed many songs, and aspired to become major icons in Cameroon. The duo broke up when she moved to the USA.
As a young Cameroonian, T-NAYAH boasts of a background in French and English music alike. Her sound is sweet, sensual, and soothing. “Full of passion” as she would say, are her melodies and harmonies. She has been mentioned alongside names like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Leona Lewis. However, she asserts that music is universal, therefore, so are her musical influences. Such influences include Nathalie Makoma, Celine Dion, India Arie. She hopes to move souls with words and her voice. Currently, she is working with popular DMV artists as well as some international artists and is looking forward to a successful musical career
