D-MIC a.k.a Calibre, a Nigerian hip-hop artist and songwriter taking afro hip-hop to a whole new height with his mind blowing lyrical muscle… Born in the late 70’s, he started writing lyrics back in 1996 as a means of expressing himself as well escaping all the trouble that youth normally get tangled with.
He had a tough street upbringing as he grew up in a neighbourhood where only the strong stands. He is Currently working on his mix tape and has released 2 singles (How we ride and Holla at ya boy) with one music video which is generating a big internet buzz globally..
He created the slang “ASH” Afro street hop.. D-Mic draws inspiration from Fela, Bob Marley, LL cool j, EPMD, Run DMC, Rakim, Nas, Jadakiss, Magnum, Shyne to mention just a few. He has character and style. Growing up in the street with what he called Street curriculum and breaking out to become a man that his people admire and respect.D-mic is on a mission to put Afro street hop on the map.
