"If you don't get it/get a computer and Google it"—a line that appears
early in "You Can Sell Anything"—could be a mantra for the Das Racist
catalogue. Their records, which are racked in adept wordplay, make
references to anything from reading the work of post-colonial theorist
Gayatri Spivak to flipping swaggy lyrics spit by other rappers into
regular dude situations. It only makes sense that they would team up
with Mad Decent don Diplo.
As a DJ and a producer, he also picks fruit off of many different
trees to create something both smart and fun. Their whistle-laden
pairing is from Das Racist's new mixtape, Sit Down, Man, available today from Mad Decent.
