Gyptian Voted #2 Song of the Year by New York’s Hot97

Reggae star Gyptian is still ringing in the new year in style as his smash hit Hold You was voted Number-Two song of the year on New York's WQHT HOT97.
The rhythmic powerhouse in the top media market in the nation conducted a contest for listeners to vote for their favourite song of the year, and Gyptian was favoured all the way to the number two spot the Hot 97 Songs of the Year countdown, second only to Drake.
This comes on the heels of Gyptian being ranked as a top artiste internationally and his single Hold You as one of the hottest songs for 2010 by numerous media outlets worldwide, capping off a stunning year for the artiste and landing him everywhere from Billboard Magazine to the New York Times and in an upcoming piece in the Wall Street Journal.
"I have to thank all my fans around the world for putting their power behind Hold You and making it a bonafide hit," states Gyptian in a release sent to THE WEEKEND STAR. "This year it's all about Nah Let Go and I look forward to doing just that."
Gyptian was crowned Reggae Artiste of the Year at the 2010 Soul Train Awards and the 2010 MOBO Awards in the UK. To date, the breakout single has sold over 300,000 copies and both videos for Hold You and Nah Let Go premiered on the coveted video countdown show, BET's 106 & Park. His album Hold You is now available in stores and online. twitter/RealGyptian
